Some have described playing Lust as similar to starring in your own conspiracy thriller. Every unexpected knock at the door, every No Caller ID phone call, holds the potential for more story to unfold. Characters have crashed real-life parties, actual friends have turned out to be plants, and the story has even occasionally shifted across the country, with one notable moment taking place with a participant in Minnesota.
But Lust could also be compared to an online investigation. We comb through emails, texts, videos, and pictures to speculate: Who really killed this character? Is this other character faking their own death? Should we believe anything this person says, or are they simply trying to get a rise out of us?
Ultimately, players are all grappling with the question: What do we truly desire?
